Mike Saunders is a founding partner of Folio Law Group, PLLC, an intellectual property, licensing, business transactions, and litigation firm, with which Matterhorn frequently works.

Mike is an IP and business transactions lawyer who assists clients over the lifecycle of their business. He frequently drafts and negotiates a broad variety of contracts and licenses relating to SaaS, biotech, life science, advertising, gaming, and fintech. Additional areas of expertise include intellectual property (patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets), privacy compliance, HIPAA compliance, data security, open source, and FERPA compliance. Mike has represented clients on intellectual property, data security, open source, and privacy matters in numerous M&A transactions.

Prior to founding Folio Law Group, PLLC, Mike was an IP, litigation, and transactions attorney in the Silicon Valley office of Fenwick & West, LLP, and in-house counsel at Redfin.

Prior to attending law school, Mike was a biology researcher, where he investigated off-target environmental effects of transgenic crops.
Mike received his law degree from Tulane University Law School, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif. He received a B.S. in Biology from Bucknell University.
